What is NDIS?
NDIS stands for National Disability Insurance Scheme. It is a government funding scheme which aims to help people under the age of 65 with disabilities get the care and support they need.
It recognises that disability related support is an entitlement, and means you have a choice of service providers in an open market – it gives you more choice and control.
NDIS also provides families and carers with the information they require about services to support people with disabilities.

Who is eligible?
To qualify and become a participant of NDIS, people must first meet the access requirements.
These requirements are:
- Availability of NDIS in your area
- Your age
- Your residency status
- Your disability and in some cases your early intervention requirements
